On Tuesday at 3:52 a.m., units from the Goldsboro Fire Department received an alarm for a structure fire at 204 Hunters Creek Drive.
Arriving at 3:57 a.m., units found a single-family dwelling with smoke and fire showing.
An interior attack was ordered, and the fire was brought under control at 4:51 a.m. Four engine companies, the tower company, and a command vehicle with a total of 16 personnel responded.
The home suffered 40% fire damage with smoke and heat damage throughout.
Two adults and two children were displaced. Fire crews remained on the scene for another two hours to salvage and overhaul.
Investigators stayed on the scene for an additional four hours. The investigation revealed an electrical issue, and the fire was ruled accidental.
Responding agencies included the Goldsboro Fire Department, Goldsboro Police Department, Wayne County EMS and Duke Energy. The American Red Cross also responded to assist the victims with relocation and general assistance.
