Larry David Bill, age 76, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 27th at his home. Born in Cumberland County, he was the son of the late Alfred David “Bo” Bill and Virginia Kilton Bill. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Ramsey Bill, and his sisters, Rose Marks and Mary Bill.
Larry was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church and formerly Love Memorial Baptist Church. He was a Deacon, Sunday School Director, Choir Director and Youth Director. He was also a Boy Scout Leader with Troop 10. Larry was well known as the “Music Man”, “Magazine Man”, and the “Candy Man”.
A service to celebrate the well-lived life of Larry will be held on Friday, August 30th at 2:00 pm at the Rosewood Baptist Church with Dr. Tim Lipp officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the Rosewood Baptist Church East Foyer from 12:30 until 2:00 pm on Friday prior to the service.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mary Barnes Bill; his sons, Larry David Bill, Jr. and wife, Amanda, and Todd Bill; his step-sons, Brian Buchan and wife, Shawn and Ceb Buchan and wife, Amber; his sister, Gloria Youngblood; his grandchildren, Rachael Smith and husband, Randy, Logan Blackman and husband, Jameson, Noah Bill and wife, Chelsea, and Christian Bill; step grandchildren, Ethan Buchan, Tyler Buchan, Scarlett Buchan, Maggie Buchan; and great grandchildren, Easton Smith, Maverick Smith and Banks Blackman.
