Jaalin Dasani Applewhite, 21, Goldsboro, a suspect in an August homicide, turned himself into the Goldsboro Police Department on Wednesday morning.
On Aug. 2, at approximately 9:17 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at 308 N. Kornegay Street.
Upon officers’ arrival, they located one Nymirra J. Bynum, 23, Goldsboro, inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Emergency Medical personnel responded, and Bynum was pronounced deceased.
The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit were contacted and responded to the scene.
Applewhite was served on the aforementioned warrant for murder in relation to this incident.
Applewhite received no bond and was placed in the custody of the Wayne County Detention Center pending a first appearance on Wednesday.
