The City of Goldsboro Commission on Community Relations and Development is hosting a Suicide Prevention Awareness vigil at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Due to the threat of rain, the event is being held in the Goldsboro City Council Chambers at 214 N. Center St.
This event aims to bring together residents, families, local organizations, and officials in a shared effort to raise awareness, promote open dialogue, and remember those lost to suicide.
The vigil will feature guest speakers, including Mayor Charles Gaylor, Hunter Hijma (Wayne County Health Department); Capt. Josh Stine (Goldsboro Police Department); City Attorney Ron Lawrence; Mayor Pro Tem Brandi Matthews; Interim City Manager Matt Livingston; and Commission Chair Carole Battle.
