Janet Marie Williams Potter, 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Wayne UNC Healthcare in Goldsboro. Janet was born on June 7, 1940, in Wayne County to the late Nathan Hugh Williams and Sally Zenovah Jordan Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan William Potter, Jr., and sons, Bo Potter and Kim Potter.
Janet retired from General Electric in Goldsboro. She was a lifelong fan of all things Elvis and Christmas. She loved family and hosted many reunions through the years. Janet was a fabulous grandmother and her grands and great-grands were the lights of her life.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 6:00 –8:00 p.m. at her home. A service celebrating Janet’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2024, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Stancil officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Scarlet Stuckey, and husband, Rich of Stafford, VA; son, Rhet Potter and wife, Robin of Pikeville; brother, Hugh “Gene” Williams and wife, Shirley of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Justin Potter, Caroline Peede, Greyson Potter, William Stuckey, and Kylie Potter; and great-grandchildren, Trent Potter, Christian Peede, Jocelyn Potter, and Olivia Potter.
