Two Family Dollar Employees Assaulted During Attempted Robbery

On Friday at approximately 8:52 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to 1403 Wayne Memorial Drive for an attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. 

A black male suspect entered the Family Dollar, appearing to make a purchase, before assaulting the employees, Carl Castille, 25, and Jennifer Williams, 38, Kinston, in an effort to rob the store.

Williams had minor injuries from the assault. Castille sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to UNC Health Wayne for treatment.

The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit were contacted, and an investigation into the robbery was initiated
