Etheleen Stephenson Butts of Goldsboro entered into rest peacefully.

She is survived by her daughters, Gilda Hope James Monterone, Eleanor Dianne James Pierce, Wanda Kay James Bragg (Ronnie) and Celia Gayle James Gwaltney (Wayne) all of Goldsboro, step-daughter, Janet Lee Butts Allen of Wilmington. Sons, Jesse Berry James, Jr. of Goldsboro and Earlton Ray Lucas (Vonn), step-sons Henry Dwight “Hankie” Butts, Jr. and Joseph Chong “Joe” Butts both of Wilson, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry Dwight Butts, and the father of her children Jesse Berry James, and a son, William Craig James.

A private service with pastor Pete Norris officiating will be held.
