Teresa Ann Hales Brantley, 56, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 21, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born in Johnston County on January 20, 1968, she was the daughter of the late Lynwood Hales, Sr. and Annie Price Hales.

In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald Wayne Hales and Lynwood Hales, Jr.; nephew, Ronald Hales; stepson, Dustin Mitchell; and grandson, Graysan Mitchell.

Teresa is survived by her nephews and their families: Chris Hales and wife, Stephanie, and their children, Christopher, Cody, and Caleb; Stephen Hales and wife, Hallie, and their children, Maddox, Maverick, and Sawyer; and Austin Barnes and wife, Anna; nieces Amanda Alan and Madison Allen. Teresa is also survived by her loving fiancé, Wayne Mitchell; his children, Chris Mitchell and wife, Amber, and Michael Wayne Mitchell; and his grandchildren, Katelynn Cameron, Brysan, and Jaden. Teresa is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Marie Mitchell, BJ Matthews, Lorie Hales, and Helene Joyner.

For many years, Teresa served her community as an EMT. She had a love and passion for her work and it was evident in her everyday life as well as in her work. When able to get away, Teresa could be found at a NASCAR race or somewhere with a fishing rod in hand. In the warm, summer months, nothing made Teresa happier than sitting at the end of a pier waiting for a fish to bite.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 28  at 6 p.m. at Remnant Worship Center, 2455 NC Hwy 96 N Selma, NC.
