Ann Daniel Patterson, 91, passed away peacefully at Kitty Askins Hospice Center on Thursday, October 17, 2024. She was born on April 16, 1933, in Oxford. She was the daughter of the late Armie Adams Daniel and Mabel Eugenia Bowling Daniel. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Thomas Patterson, and sister, Frances O’Brien.
A devoted member of First Baptist Church, Ann participated in the ministry of the church through involvement on various committees, served as a deacon, and sang in the church choir.
Well-connected to her community, Ann maintained membership in several different garden clubs and was known for her keen abilities as a bridge player. Proud of her heritage, Ann was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also a member of the Goldsboro chapter of the Southern Dames of America.
A service to celebrate Ann’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Goldsboro with Dr. Glenn Phillips and Rev. Scott Thrailkill officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the fellowship hall at the church. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Elmwood Cemetery, Oxford, NC.
Ann is survived by her sons, Daniel Keith Patterson and wife, Debbie of Utah and Scott Thomas Patterson and wife, Julie of California; grandchildren, Danny Patterson and wife, Mallory, Robby Patterson and wife, Sadia, Cole Patterson, Rachel Patterson, Matt Kraeling and Kellie Kraeling; and five great-grandchildren, Archer, Daniel III, Myla Ann, Noah and Eli. She is also survived by her brother, Thomas “Tommy” Daniel, and wife, Delores of Oxford; a special niece, JoAnna Dean; and several other nieces and nephews she loved very much.
Memorials may be given in Ann’s memory to First Baptist Church, 125 S. John Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
