Charles Ray Pippin, 68, passed away at his home on Friday, October 25, 2024. Born in Wilson County on November 10, 1955, he was the son of the late John L. Pippin, Sr. and Inez Loftin Pippin.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his sister, Laura Pippin.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Janet Brock Pippin; children, Christopher Pippin, and Gregory Pippin and wife, JoAnna; grandchildren, Aaron, and Makenzie Pippin; brother, John L. Pippin, Jr., and wife, Vickie; sister, Sara Sullivan, and husband, John; and brother-in-law, Steve Brock, and wife, Susan. Charles is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
For many years, Charles worked as a farmer, sowing many seeds of tobacco, corn, and soybeans. Charles was a faithful member of Fremont Fire and Rescue in his younger years. He loved fishing in his free time, especially with his brother-in-law, Steve, and spending time with his animals. Charles also enjoyed carpentry and woodworking.
Nothing was more important to Charles than that of his family. His love for them knew no bounds. Each moment he spent with them, whether at a ballfield, a dance recital, or just around the house, was a memory he cherished forever. Charles will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
A graveside service to celebrate Charles’ life will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Don Sauls presiding. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Samaritan’s Purse P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 in memory of Charles.
