MOUNT OLIVE — Start the Christmas season off at the University of Mount Olive’s Christmas by Spotlight event on Friday, December 6. Designed to capture the true meaning of Christmas in a spirited and lively show, the production will feature a wonderful mix of cherished classics and contemporary holiday favorites.
“Last year’s production was widely praised,” said Director Holly Rector. “And this year’s show will be even better, as we are incorporating all of our new and existing UMO performing vocal and instrumental groups, including the University’s premier a cappella group, Carolina Sound. There will also be guest appearances from several area elementary and high school groups.”
Rector encouraged getting tickets early, as both of last year’s performances were near capacity.
Show times for the Dec. 6 event will be at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Hazel Waters Kornegay Assembly Hall, located at 207 Wooten Street in Mount Olive.
Tickets are $12 for adults and free for UMO students and individuals 18 and under. They can be purchased online at https://advancement.umo.edu/e/christmas-by-spotlight.
“If you are looking to celebrate Christmas with an evening of wonderful music, beautiful costumes, and colorful special effects, then I hope you will make plans to join us at the University of Mount Olive on December 6,” said Rector. “It will be an evening to remember and a great way to start the Christmas season!”
