November 3, 2024, 77, Goldsboro —
Jimmy Lee Edmundson, 77, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Jimmy was born in Wayne County on June 20, 1947, to the late Wilbert Lee Edmundson and Mildred Ham Edmundson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Jonathan Mark Edmundson, and a brother, Jerry Edmundson.
Working his full career as a sales representative in fertilizer and chemicals, Jimmy was employed with Royster-Clark, Crop Production Services and Patetown-Dixie. In addition to his job, he served his neighbors and retired as a volunteer member of the Antioch Fire Department.
A long-time member of Free Chapel P.F.W.B. Church, Jimmy served his Lord and church faithfully, offering his time and dedication as a deacon and trustee. Joining other men in the church, Jimmy enjoyed both playing and coaching softball in the church league for several years at the Saulston ball field.
With a great love for being outdoors, Jimmy took every opportunity to go hunting or fishing. Maintaining a large vegetable garden, he loved climbing atop his Farmall tractor to plow the rows and keep his garden in top condition.
Devoted to his family, time with children and grandchildren was his top priority. Any chance to spend the day with them was quickly accepted and never taken for granted.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Free Chapel P.F.W.B.
