James Benjamin Smith, 67, of Dudley passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at his home.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Interment with military honors will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. Visitation will be held prior to the service from noon until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

James was born in Sampson County on October 18, 1957. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his mother, Mamie Smith Langston of Goldsboro; his son, Ryan Benjamin Smith of Goldsboro; his sister, Lisa Smith Mckeller of Richlands, NC; his aunts, Maggie Thompson of Warsaw, Dorothy Smith of LaGrange and Ruby McKenzie of Goldsboro and a host of other relatives and friends.

 He was preceded in death by his father, James Smith, and his son, Dacole Simmons.
