Pamela Sue Boyer

December 22, 2024, 60, Goldsboro —

Pamela Sue Boyer, 60, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Born on September 20, 1964, in Whiteside, Illinois, she was the daughter of Richard Boyer and Barbara Reisinger Boyer.

In addition to her mother, Pamela is survived by her daughter, Tearika Boyer, and her sister, Diana Head, and husband, Jeffrey Head.

Pamela was preceded in death by her father.

For 30 years, Pamela dedicated her life to the noble profession of teaching special needs children. From her very first day in the classroom, she was captivated by the unique challenges and remarkable rewards that came with educating children who required a little extra support. Each student she encountered brought their own individual strengths and personalities, allowing Pamela to embrace a diverse tapestry of learning experiences.

Pamela was a woman of diverse interests and unwavering will. Her love for cats was evident in every corner of her cozy home. Pamela’s love for people fostered connections, friendships, and a community bound by a shared love of stories and companionship.

Her passion for reading was no less intense. Books lined her shelves like old friends, each story offering an escape, a lesson, or a new perspective. Whether she was curled up with a classic novel or diving into contemporary fiction, Pamela savored every word as if it were a delicious meal. The characters she met through the pages became a part of her—fueling her imagination and providing endless inspiration.

But perhaps what truly set Pamela apart was her strong-willed nature. When she believed in something, she pursued it with fierce determination. Her friends admired her resilience; they knew that when she set her mind to a task, she would see it through, inspiring those around her to do the same.

A memorial service to celebrate Pamela’s life will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church with Pastor Johnathan Smith officiating.

Services have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home.
