Wayne County Public Schools will dismiss two hours early on Friday due to winter weather being in the forecast for Wayne County.

Ken Dersken, Executive Director for Community Engagement and Student and Family Support for Wayne County Public Schools, sent out the following statement from WCPS on Thursday afternoon: 

“Due to the threat of icy weather forecast to arrive as early as tomorrow evening, all schools will dismiss two hours early, tomorrow, Friday, January 10. All students and staff will dismiss two hours earlier than usual to ensure school buses are off the road before any potential slick conditions occur. All after-school programs are canceled for Friday afternoon and all campuses will remain closed this weekend. WCPS is closely monitoring the weather forecasts for our area and will remain in close communication with local emergency management officials throughout this weather event.
