Carldeen Parrish McCormick, age 84, passed away on Thursday, January 2nd at Brookdale Senior Living in Goldsboro with her children by her side. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Carl Person Parrish and Leola Lee Parrish. Affectionately known as Mama D, she was a talented artist and was formerly employed with the Johnston County Clerk of Court.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, January 6th at 6:00 pm in the Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patrick Muston officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
Deen is survived by her son, Chuck Lane and wife, Debbie; her daughters, Lynn Barwick and husband, Roger; Crystal Lane Weeks and husband, Eric; her siblings, Glenda Rose Pearse, Gardner Parrish and Laura La Shea Scheppf; her grandchildren, Conner Adams and his wife, Jessica, Kailey Adams, Nicholas Adams his wife, Linn, Shelby Lane, Macy Weeks, Anna Kate Weeks; and her great grandchildren, Brenna Adams, Emma Adams and Ava Lane.
The family would like to thank Brookdale Senior Living staff and the Gentiva Hospice staff for all the love and care they provided for Mama D.
