Jimmy Brooks Person, 67, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at UNC Health – Nash. Jimmy was born in Fayetteville, NC to the late Marion Brooks Person and Peggy Bryant Person on December 27, 1957.

A proud graduate of North Carolina State University, Jimmy’s heart was never far from his beloved Wolfpack. He was a member of the North Carolina State Alumni Association.

Jimmy’s entire career was in Human Resources where he served as a director in the health care industry. His work helped to insure that patients and their families had the best possible experience.

A memorial gathering to honor Jimmy’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Laura Shivar and their son, Jimmy Ned Shivar Person. He is also survived by one sister and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews he loved very much.
