Dr. Kenneth Dwain Beamon, 76, passed away December 17, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington.
Dwain Beamon was born in Ranger, TX on January 21, 1948 to Elton Andrew Beamon and Lillian Bishop Beamon. He grew up near Goldsboro, and graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1966. He was a George Hawkins scholar at Wake Forest University and received his DDS degree from the University of North Carolina Dental School in 1973. After graduation, Dwain practiced dentistry in Tarboro, NC for over forty years. In addition to his career, Dwain served his community as an elder at Sunset Church of God and as a member of the Edgecombe County School Board.
After retirement from dentistry in 2014, Dwain enjoyed his family and outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and yardwork.
Dwain is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Sue Bogue Beamon; sons, Ken Beamon and wife, Laura and Anthony Beamon and wife, Katie; daughter, Susie B. Magill and husband, Uriah; grandsons, Andrew Beamon, Hayes Beamon, Whitley Beamon, Luke Beamon, David Beamon, and Cole Magill; granddaughters, Anna Beamon, Mary Kenna Beamon, and Ella Magill; brother, Dwight Beamon; and sister, Andi B. Stephens.
A memorial service to celebrate Dwain’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dwain’s memory to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
