Dana Smith Sinquefield, 49, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Born in Wilson County on May 16, 1975, she was the daughter of Eddie Ballard Smith, Sr., and Mary Lou Nixon Bailey.

Dana is survived by her husband, Ben Sinquefield; children, Megan Rivera and wife, Yarimar, Katie Stone and fiancé, Jack, Leon Stone, and Luke Stone; grandchildren, Jay Rivera and Remington Woodall; siblings, Tara Crawford, Edwin Ballard Smith, Jr., Nickie Smith, Pamela Smith; step-mother, Deborah Whitfield-Smith; and step-father, Johnny Bailey.

Dana spent her life dedicated to her family, her work, and the passions that brought her joy. As a pharmacy technician, she was known for her kindness, patience, and commitment to helping others. Dana’s warmth and caring nature extended beyond her professional life, as she cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. Above all, Dana loved spending time with her grandson, playing with him and creating memories that will forever be treasured by her family.

Dana had a deep love for horses, an affinity she carried throughout her life. Whether riding them or simply admiring their grace and beauty, horses were a constant source of joy and peace for her. She also found solace in the natural world, particularly the beach, where she would spend hours walking along the shoreline, searching for shark teeth, and marveling at the wonders of the ocean.

Dana’s family was her greatest source of love and strength. She had a heart full of warmth and compassion, and her legacy of love will continue to inspire those who knew her. She leaves behind a void that can never be filled, but the memories of her gentle spirit, vibrant energy, and boundless love will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

A service to celebrate Dana’s life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Kenly Funeral Service. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to assist the family with funeral expenses.
