Wayne County is one of the 31 counties in North Carolina under a cold weather advisory from the National Weather Service through 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Surrounding counties Wilson, Johnston, and Sampson are also under a cold weather advisory.

Wind chills ranging from 2 to 9 degrees are expected.

Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
