With winter weather in the forecast for Wayne County, Wayne County Public Schools will dismiss two hours early on Tuesday.
All Wayne County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.
Ken Derksen, Executive Director for Community Engagement and Student & Family Support for Wayne County Public Schools, released the following statement on Tuesday morning:
“Due to the changing forecast and the threat of icy weather now expected to arrive in our area earlier than predicted this evening, all schools will dismiss two hours early, today, Tuesday, Jan. 21. All after-school programs are canceled. Additionally, due to anticipated snow and ice, all schools will be closed for students and staff, tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 22.
