Gary Neal Lynch, 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 15, 2025 at Wayne UNC Health Care. Born in Wayne County on May 7, 1953, he was the son of the late Gene Lynch and AnnieBell Thomas Lynch Allen.

A man of big personality, Gary was known for his bold take on life, generosity and immense pride in his family. He often found every opportunity to brag about his children and grandchildren, and he took great joy in their accomplishments.
Gary was the epitome of a “man’s man.” Whether he was socializing with friends, reminiscing about his time in the Navy, he approached life with vigor and lived life to the fullest. A proud Navy veteran, he loved talking about his “boats” he was on and time at sea. Gary never went anywhere without his Navy veteran hat, a symbol of his service and pride in his country.
In his spare time, Gary was never far from a good fishing trip, restoring hot rods, revving up engines on his beloved Chevelles or a day spent watching a good NASCAR race. He enjoyed traveling and cherished the time spent in the mountains with his wife.
Gary will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, as well as in the stories that will continue to be told about his adventurous spirit.
A memorial service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
