Sherry Davis Ballance, 68, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of Saturday, January 18, 2025. Sherry was born in Goldsboro to Marie Hales Davis and the late Kenneth Davis, Sr. of Goldsboro on September 22, 1956.

Sherry worked with her family for many years at D & B Furniture, Ken-Mar Finance, and then opened her own jewelry store called Simply Silver. She was a very devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was a tremendous help to her mother with cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping, helping take care of nieces and nephews and taking care of Terry. There were some times in life that we all just simply could not have done without her.

Sherry was full of life and loved decorating her home, racing cars in her younger days, and was very talented at putting together those pretty necklaces and earrings at her jewelry store. She was always laughing, no matter what.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth W. Davis, Sr. and her brother, Scott A. Davis. Sherry is survived by her mother, Marie Hales Davis; fiancée, Terry Cline; son, Jon Howell (Michele); step son, Brandon Cline (Amanda); grandchildren, Colton Cline and Matthew Waters; brother, Kenneth Davis, Jr. (Carla); nieces, Krystal Cooper, Macy Davis, and Audrey Davis; nephew, Ashton Davis; special aunt, Grace Hales Adams; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends she loved very much.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service celebrating Sherry’s life will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Walter Sloan officiating. Interment will be on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
