At 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, the Mar-Mac Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 800 block of Durham Lake Road in reference to a motor vehicle crash with Injuries.
While en-route, Wayne County 911 Communications, NC advised that multiple callers were reporting an overturned vehicle.
Mar-Mac Car 1 arrived on the scene and confirmed the vehicle was overturned and established Durham Lake Road Command.
Mar-Mac Engine 7 and Rescue 15 arrived on the scene and began stabilizing the vehicle while making patient contact with the driver of the vehicle.
During the patient assessment, it was discovered that the patient was entrapped in the vehicle and personnel began extricating.
Crews were able to safely remove the patient by removing the driver’s door and turned the patient over to Wayne County EMS Medic 8 for further treatment and transport.
Units stayed on the scene to assist with traffic control while North Carolina State Highway Patrol conducted their investigation and while the tow company recovered the vehicle.
Once the roadway was cleared, all Mar-Mac units cleared and Durham Lake Road Command was terminated.
