On Wednesday, at approximately 4:57 a.m., Goldsboro Fire Department units were dispatched to 208 Randall Lane.
Fire units arrived at 5:01 a.m. to find smoke and flames showing from the single-floor structure.
The Goldsboro Police Department and Wayne County EMS also responded to the call.
The structure, valued at $122,570, is considered a total loss.
Two people were displaced and were being assisted by the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

The fire was investigated by the Goldsboro Fire Department and determined to be accidental, caused by improperly discarded smoking materials.
Seventeen firefighters and six apparatus brought the fire under control at 6:56 a.m.
