Belinda Mooring Brown, 75, of Eureka went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025 at Mt. Nelson Missionary Baptist Church in Eureka.  A graveside service will follow at Eureka Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Mrs. Brown was born in Wayne County on June 15, 1949 to the late Willie and Maybelle Varnell Mooring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Dale Mooring and her sister, Willie Mae Bridgers and husband, Billy Bridgers.

Mrs. Brown was a cherished member of Mt. Nelson Missionary Baptist Church. At the church, she sang joyfully in the choir and took part in the ladies’ auxiliary. In her free time, she loved to quilt along with other ladies in the community. Family was very important to Mrs. Brown, and she enjoyed spending time with them, sharing stories and laughter. One of her greatest joys was shopping. Above all, she adored the apple of her eye, Peyton. They shared many happy moments together. Mrs. Brown’s life was full of love, creativity, and warmth, making her a beloved figure in both her family and her church community.

She is survived by her loving husband, Howard L. Brown; one son, Lee H. Brown and wife, Lanell of Eureka; sister-in-law, Judy Mooring of Eureka; her grandson, Peyton Brown; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Nelson Missionary Baptist Church in Eureka or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
