Harry Leonard Bestland Sr. of Goldsboro passed away Monday, March 31, 2025 at UNC Health Wayne in Goldsboro at the age of 80.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, April 4, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley. 

Mr. Bestland was born in Brunswick, Georgia on July 22, 1944 to the late Harry and Evelyn Bestland. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Unionport, Ohio and The Grand Lodge in Ohio. 

He is survived by his son, Harry Bestland of Goldsboro; one daughter, Julia Vincent and husband, Greg of Ohio; one sister, Patricia Bestland Hrudka; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and his beloved cat, Baby.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Bestland; his son, Kenneth Charles Boyd; two daughters, Stacey Seibel and Shirley Morris and his brother, Bobby Bestland.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, April 3, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
