RALEIGH, N.C. – The Deadly shooting on Tuesday afternoon on Sumner Boulevard near Old Wake Forest Road has just been updated with more insight on the case. Just after 3p.m. responding officers found two unresponsive individuals. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene and the female was taken to the hospital. Wednesday morning the female passed away from her fatal injuries.

Upon further investigation the Raleigh Police Department deemed that the incident stemmed from a domestic violence situation. It is stated that the male shot the female then turned the weapon on himself.

The Raleigh Police Department will not be releasing the names of the victims out of respect for the families of the victims. RPD encourages anyone facing domestic violence to reach out to the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE or 911 for immediate assistance.
