GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 10) – University of Mount Olive senior Ashlyn Stone was named as a finalist for the 2024-25 Murphy Osborne Award on Thursday, as announced by the league office. Stone is one of 14 individuals from the conference to be selected as a finalist for the award.
Stone became just the third-ever Mount Olive player to earn AVCA All-American honors following her performance during the 2024-25 season. Prior to earning AVCA All-American honors she was the Conference Carolinas Fall Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women’s volleyball.
Stone was a consensus all-region honoree after garnering accolades from the AVCA and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Stone finished among the top five in the Conference Carolinas with 4.16 points, 3.60 kills, and 0.44 service aces per set. She also registered 14 kill/dig double-doubles. She eclipsed 1,000 career kills with the program and ranked second in the league with 374 this season.
