Pregnant Woman Injured by a Severe Windstorm

GOLDSBORO, NC – A severe windstorm on Monday left a pregnant woman injured and hospitalized. Ashley Snipes, who was six months pregnant, was walking near North Berkeley Boulevard when intense straight-line winds sent a plastic folding table right at her leg. In the process Ashley fell on the ground and was left incapacitated.

Emergency services were contacted and Ashley was transported to the Wayne Memorial Hospital, where she was informed that she has fractured her tibial plateau – behind the knee cap, and fractured the top of her foot. Due to her injuries, a temporary cast has been placed on her until the date of her surgery. Fortunately her baby was not injured.
