Goldsboro Parks and Recreation Seeks Community Input for 2025 Master Plan

Goldsboro Parks and Recreation Seeks Community Input for 2025 Master Plan

Goldsboro, NC — Big things may soon be happening in neighborhood parks, and city leaders want your opinions to help make the future of recreation in Goldsboro a success.

The City of Goldsboro Parks and Recreation Department is working on revising its Master Plan for 2025 and wants residents to give their ideas, priorities, and dreams for the city’s local parks, trails, and recreation programs. Throughout the city, a series of public input sessions will be held over the course of the next few days, providing residents an opportunity to get their input regarding the vision of Goldsboro’s outdoor recreation spaces and facilities.

Concept boards, rough ideas, and live dialogue will be available during each session to create feedback-stimulating suggestions and produce people-focused ideas.

The last Master Plan developed by the department was completed in 2008 and partially revised in 2012. A great deal of development and expansion has taken place within the City of Goldsboro since, making this current effort all the more vital. The Mayor of Goldsboro, Charles Gaylor voiced how important it is for our community to be aware of this Master Plan.  “This is something I am advocating for,” Charles Gaylor said. “We need citizen input.” “We are in the process of designing Parks and Recreation for 2030/2035”.

Public hearings will continue up to April 19, and residents are also encouraged to provide comments by completing a short online survey, available on the Goldsboro Parks and Recreation website.

The updated Master Plan will guide the city’s investments in recreational spaces for years to come—covering everything from playgrounds and greenways to athletic fields and community programming. Whether you’re an avid park goer or just someone with a few ideas, your voice matters.

Now is your chance to help shape the future of Goldsboro’s parks—one idea at a time.
