Randy Edward Clayton, 67, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born in Wilson County on October 5, 1957, he was the son of the late Edward Clayton and Madge Ballance Clayton.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Capps Clayton; and brother, Jimmy Ballance.

Randy is survived by his siblings, Mike Clayton, Candy Holland and husband, Jackie, and Brenda Ballance.

Randy was an avid reader who could often be found with a book in hand, always curious and thoughtful. Randy loved getting lost in stories and finding meaning in the written word. Music was another great love of his, especially the songs of Bob Dylan.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 18, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service. A service to celebrate Randy’s life will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Kenly Funeral Service with Pastor Eric Narron presiding. Randy will be laid to rest at the Boyette Family Cemetery following the service.
