Charges Filed in Fatal December Crash
On December 6, 2022, at approximately 8 p.m., the Goldsboro Police Department was notified by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, via Wayne County Communications, of a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle was traveling westbound on US 70 from the LaGrange area. A Wayne County Sheriff’s deputy conducting business checks located a suspicious vehicle at Deacon Jones Chevrolet at 6595 US 70 E, LaGrange. Suspicious Vehicle Leads to Arrest
On June 25, deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office located a suspicious vehicle in the area of Luby Smith Road.
Deputies contacted the driver who was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant. Updated Information: As a result of the ongoing investigation, probable cause was developed for charges against two male subjects identified as Mikell Vito Wright, 22, and Isaiah Jaiquan Benton-Lofton, 18.
