RALEIGH – The North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety Program is reminding drivers and boaters not to drink and drive this Fourth of July.
That was the message from traffic safety officials and law enforcement officers at Wednesday’s launch in Raleigh of anti-drunk driving campaigns aimed at automobile drivers and boaters.

Suspicious Vehicle Leads to Arrest

On June 25, deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office located a suspicious vehicle in the area of Luby Smith Road.
Deputies contacted the driver who was found to have an outstanding arrest warrant. The driver, Joshua Earl Cummings, 36, of 5029 Trappers Rd, Wilson, was subsequently arrested and during the investigation probable cause was established to search the vehicle in which suspected methamphetamine, heroin and catalytic converters were located within. read more »

Updated Information: As a result of the ongoing investigation, probable cause was developed for charges against two male subjects identified as Mikell Vito Wright, 22, and Isaiah Jaiquan Benton-Lofton, 18.

These subjects were arrested during a traffic stop conducted by the Goldsboro Police Department’s VICE Unit on Wednesday, in the 700 block of Force Road. Both subjects were served with their warrants and were left in the custody of the Wayne County Jail.read more »
